MSI is the staple for the gaming enthusiast.

This was a good read, but it seems like MSI is missing their biggest consumer complaint, and that is the quality of the components they use. I have read many, many horror stories of MSI products using subpar capacitors etc. Rather than trying to continually bring out and add new features, how about they up the quality of features they already have?

From my experiences, MSI is a matter of extremes. Their low end products generally are not well made, although the same could be said of pretty much any motherboard maker.

Their high end products though like the Lightning series of GPUs and XPower motherboards generally ship with top end components. I would actually argue that they have some of the best high end GPUs and in many cases, motherboards around.

I use low-end ASUS motherboards from what, 2003, and only one was DoA.
I think with MSI it`s pretty much how it was with Gigabyte, when one or two faulty MB series` have tarnished the overall reputation of the brand for some time.

Good interview, nice to see all of them look enthusiastic about gaming and themselves playing games and even family members joining the fun.

The only thing I would really have liked for MSI to offer, was a sub 20cm (8in) GTX960/970 card.

I have a GTX970 golden edition, which is fantastic, but sadly, too long to fit in a compact case, so I settled for Gigabyte's GTX960. The alternative was Asus's GTX970 ITX.

how you find a lcd to fit the bezels.
  • Ethos Evoss - Thursday, December 24, 2015 - link

Fitting this LG IPS screen requires to remove hinges on left and right.
Once I put plastic screen bezel back on bottom the pressure created HUUGE light bleed reflection..!
Then I had to cut screen's screw mounting plates on top/bottom left/right
Then I had to rearrange eDP cable because cable was making bump in back of the screen and causing pressure to the screen so creating bleed when plastic screen bezel fitted...
I managed to snap plastic bezel when first time remove it on the bottom right
But once fitted it cannot be seen so much :D
Now all is nice and flat and I successfully replaced TN with an great IPS screen it is very nice

Battlefield Frontline? maybe he totally borked it, or maybe he totally leaked the title of DICE's next battlefield game they confirmed they are working on now.
  • nils_ - Tuesday, December 29, 2015 - link

Probably just borking it, Hard Line was the last battlefield title I think.

could someone please ask them to stop making gaming laptops that don't look like they were designed for children?
  • Zak - Monday, December 21, 2015 - link

Not just laptops and not just MSI. Every hardware maker seems to think that majority of gamers prefer gaudy and weird:/
  • inperfectdarkness - Tuesday, January 5, 2016 - link

I have no idea what you're talking about. GT-60 3k IPS edition has a brushed black lid/palmwrest and only a simple "MSI" logo--no dragons anywhere. It's actually about a non-descript as you can get in a laptop.

Did Andy Tung really say he's playing "Battlefield Front Line?" O.O
